Bears Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
Getting a good performance from catcher John Rollins, the Baylor Bears defeated the Oregon State Beavers, 12-5. Rollins went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Bears. Baylor reliever Dexter Adams picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Nick Byrnes shouldered the loss. The 21st-place Bears lifted their record to 4-9.
Ryan Davis chipped in for Baylor, stroking a crucial 2-run triple in the top of the fifth inning. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 4 with a triple and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
In comments to the Baylor Today, Davis admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
