Volunteers Knock Off Gators, 7-3
|
The Tennessee Volunteers topped the Florida Gators, 7-3, with right fielder Ian Seeger playing a big role. Seeger was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Volunteers in the win. Ben Goodwin earned the save for Tennessee, his 5th of the year. The 15th-place Volunteers improved to 6-7.
An important at-bat for Tennessee came with two out in the bottom of the seventh. With the bases loaded, Seeger hit a grand slam, which contributed to the Volunteers win.
"It was a solid team effort," said Seeger after the game.
