Despite a great performance by LSU left fielder Aaron Keller, the Washington State Cougars defeated the Tigers by the score of 6-5 at South Paris College Grounds. Keller was 2-4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Their 6-6 record puts the Cougars 12th in the Cliff Gustafson.

Jonathan Vera's at-bat in the top of the sixth was significant for the Cougars. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Washington State leading 3-2, the second baseman hit a sacrifice fly.

"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Vera, "but we could've played better."
