Seminoles Suffer 7-4 Loss to Sycamores
The Indiana State Sycamores trumped the Florida State Seminoles, 7-4, at Pit Vipers Ballpark. Indiana State center fielder Jon Kirkendall was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Indiana State reliever Jason Roberts picked up the win to move to 1-0. Tony Taylor suffered the loss. With the win, Indiana State goes to 7-5, while the Seminoles fall to 5-7.

Kirkendall contributed a big hit, a 2-run single, for Indiana State in the bottom of the sixth. With his team trailing 4-3, Kirkendall took a fastball from Josh Lehman and stroked the single to left. His 19th hit of the season allowed the Sycamores to leap in front, 5-4.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Kirkendall told the Indiana State News.
