Vanderbilt Commodores starter David Swint turned in a top-notch performance against the Indiana State Sycamores at Ballpark of Barrow College. The result was a win for the Commodores, 3-2. Jim Unknown earned the save for Vanderbilt, his 1st of the year. Vanderbilt is now 6-5, Indiana State 6-5.
Doing his part for Vanderbilt was shortstop Dustin Stumpf, who stroked a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the second. For the game, Stumpf went 2 for 2 with a triple and was hit by a pitch.
"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Stumpf. "But I have better dreams after a win."
