The Ohio State Buckeyes outlasted Zach Davis and the Miami Hurricanes, 9-8. Davis was impressive in the loss. The Miami designated hitter was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs. The winner was Ohio State reliever Matt Belcher, now 2-0. The loser was Josh Forseth. The Buckeyes raised their record to 6-3.

Late-game drama came in the top of the eighth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the batter, Ron Davis, hit a 2-run double. It helped Ohio State seize the win.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Ohio State manager Yoshii Kamuta.
