Indiana State left fielder Aaron Washington was sensational. He went 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Oklahoma beat the Sycamores, 7-5. Washington was named the player of the game despite the loss. Oklahoma reliever Bobby Phillips picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jim Unknown was saddled with the loss. The win pushes Oklahoma to a record of 4-5.

With two out in the top of the ninth, Chris Ball drilled a 2-run home run to left-center. It put Oklahoma ahead, 7-5. For the game, Ball was 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
