Curry Helps Miami Outscore Georgia
|
In a high-scoring game between Miami and Georgia, first baseman Willie Curry was a difference-maker. The 19-year-old earned player of the game honors in the 13-11 Miami win. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Miami, now 6-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.
The contest featured some late-game dramatics from Miami first baseman Willie Curry. In the top of the ninth inning, with two out and the bases loaded, Curry drew a walk, driving in 1 run to help Miami seize the win.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Curry, "but we got it done."
