The Arizona State Sun Devils clobbered the Rice Owls, 13-3, at Toughkenamon College Fields today. Arizona State right fielder Brent Driggs was named player of the game for his productive day. He hit 3 home runs. He drove in 7 runs and scored three times. Travis Panhorst got the win, improving to 1-1. He held the Owls to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 3. With the win, Arizona State is 4-4.
Early in the game, Driggs had a 2-run home run for Arizona State. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Sun Devils on top, 2-0.
