Wildcats Fall to Dibling, Horned Frogs
|
The TCU Horned Frogs bested the Arizona Wildcats by a score of 7-1, with right fielder Jon Dibling getting the main credit. On the day, Dibling went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 runs for the Horned Frogs. The Wildcats, now 5-3, have been pitiful so far.
A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the seventh inning when the Horned Frogs sent teenager Christian Brown to the plate against Wildcats hurler Dave Rombach. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 1-2 fastball to score 2.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Horned Frogs manager Jim McCormick, "I like our chances."
