The Tennessee Volunteers had no problem beating the North Carolina Tar Heels, 11-2, at Madera College Grounds. John Bidwell led the way. He went 4-4 with 2 triples, a double, and a walk. He scored 4 times for Tennessee. The Volunteers are off to a tough start, getting just their 3rd win in 8 games.
Also pitching in was Tennessee designated hitter Brian Clark, who hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, Clark went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
