Rice second baseman Evan Wallrath pounded California Golden Bears pitchers at Toughkenamon College Fields, but it was not enough to keep the Owls from falling, 8-4. Wallrath went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. Marcus Huley recorded the save for California, his 1st of the season. The Owls, now 5-2, have been pitiful so far.

Kevin Reiss helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a grand slam home run to give California a 4-0 lead.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Reiss told the California Today.
