Demon Deacans Win Another One
|
Wake Forest Demon Deacans starter Ross Charest turned in an exceptional performance against the Miami Hurricanes at Cypress Quarters College Grounds, resulting in a Wake Forest win, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Charest, now 1-0. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. The save was credited to Vic Horn, his 2nd.
Going deep for Wake Forest was Joey McKnight. The catcher had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second inning for the Demon Deacans. It put his team ahead, 2-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, McKnight went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I like the roll we're on right now," said McKnight after the game.
The Demon Deacans, now 6-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
