Bulldogs Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
Mike True pitched a gem to lead Fresno State to a 4-1 victory over the Louisiana-Layfayette Ragin Cajuns. Fresno State reliever Erik Skrzypek picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Terry Russo absorbed the loss. Cullen Wetmore finished the game for Fresno State and earned his 3rd save.
The Bulldogs got a big at-bat from designated hitter Kevin Jefferson. For the game, Jefferson went 1-3 with a walk. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 6th hit of the season gave Fresno State a 2-1 lead.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said True.
The Bulldogs keep rolling, raising their record to 6-1.
