The Texas Longhorns beat the Arizona State Sun Devils, 11-8, at Ballpark of Celebration College. The win was largely due to the efforts of right fielder Jerry Jaeger, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Texas reliever Chris Remy got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Eric Conte was tagged with the loss. Craig Mehlin closed it out for his 1st save.

The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the fourth inning, when the Longhorns were trailing 1-0. Tim Flynn delivered a two-out 3-run home run for Texas, catapulting his team into the lead.

"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Jaeger told the Texas Times.

Texas is now 3-3.
