Demon Deacans Rally For Late Win Over Salukis
|
The Wake Forest Demon Deacans downed the South Illinois Salukis, 7-4, at Field of the Shield. The Demon Deacans were led by Casey Ickes, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Vic Horn was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Wake Forest, now 4-1, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Joey McKnight made it 6-4 in favor of Wake Forest when he delivered a 2-run home run. It came with two out in the top of the eighth. The Demon Deacans went on to win.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Wake Forest manager Roberto Salas.
