Owls Jolt Trojans with Late Rally
The Rice Owls stopped the USC Trojans, 6-2, at Toughkenamon College Fields. The Owls got a big game from Lee Johnston, who went 2-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Rice reliever Bryan Drebin, now 1-0. The loser was Justin Larson. With the win, Rice elevates its record to 4-1.

Rice took a 6-2 lead on Johnston's 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Justin Anderson in the bottom of the eighth, propelled Rice to the win.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Rice manager Jimmy Naylor.
