In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Baylor Bears beat the USC Trojans, 8-5, at Nesquehoning College Fields. The Bears got a fine performance from first baseman Jim Conley, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Baylor is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 1st in 4 games.
Conley had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Chris Cottman, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Bears a 8-5 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Conley.
Conley told a Baylor Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
