The Florida State Seminoles got a strong performance from pitcher Matt Adams, who stymied the South Illinois offense en route to a 9-2 win at Ballpark of Riverdale College. The win takes Florida State to 3-0.

Patrick Moran took Jim Thomazin deep with two out in the bottom of the third. On a first pitch slider, Moran drilled a 2-run home run to right. It was his 1st home run of the season and put Florida State on top, 3-1.

"I made some pitches when I had to," said Adams.
