Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Matt Brooks, the Louisiana-Layfayette Ragin Cajuns defeated the TCU Horned Frogs, 4-2. Brooks was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles for the Ragin Cajuns. With the loss, TCU is 0-2.

In the top of the ninth inning, Louisiana-Layfayette got a break when Brooks went to the plate. With two outs, the bases empty and the Ragin Cajuns leading 3-2, Brooks hit a solo home run.

In comments to the Louisiana-Layfayette Observer, Brooks admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
