The Rice Owls stopped the Oregon Ducks, 8-2, at Crunch Ballpark. The Owls got a big game from Sam See, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jon Nowicki recorded his 1st save for Rice. Rice, now 2-0, has played well in the early going.
See contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Rice in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, See took a fastball from Victor Bustos and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Owls to leap in front, 3-1.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," See told the Rice Citizen.
