Late Rally by Jayhawks Secures Win
|
A 3-RBI performance from David Decker, who is rated as the 68th best prospect by BNN, helped the Kansas Jayhawks beat the Clemson Tigers, 6-5. Curt Hargrave, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. Earning his 1st save of the year was Jim Unknown.
Decker had a game-changing double in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 fastball from John Tallent, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Jayhawks a 6-4 lead. It was the 1st double of the year for Decker.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Decker told the Kansas Daily. "It's as simple as that."
With the win, Kansas pushes its record to 1-1.
