Boyd Delivers Walk-Off Win for Bulldogs
|
Crowds lined up early in front of Crowley College Grounds, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2032 USA NCAA DIVISION I season. On the mound was Dan Mast for the visiting Texas A&M Aggies and Frank Gentry for the hometown Mississippi State Bulldogs. In a spirited contest, the Bulldogs pulled out the win, defeating the Aggies by the score of 5-4. Earning player of the game honors was Jake Parker.
The game came to an abrupt end with two out in the bottom of the ninth. On a pitch from Jon Thomas, Mark Boyd reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It gave Mississippi State the 5-4 walk-off win.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Mississippi State manager Carlton Price.
