Nichols and Boise got after it at Grand Canyon Valley Park.

Nichols starter Gilberto Vega had a strong outing against the Boise Bloodhounds at Grand Canyon Valley Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 10-5 win. Nichols goes to 49-113, Boise to 49-113.

The Gnats beat the Bloodhounds with some clutch hitting. The single by Kwan-uk Yi in the top of the seventh is a good example. With two down, Yi gave his team the lead, 6-5, when he came through with the big hit.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Vega told the Nichols Daily News.
