River Chiefs Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
Stable Park was the site of a competitive game between the Kingwood Knights and Chippewa River Chiefs.
The Chippewa River Chiefs scored a 4-3 win versus the Kingwood Knights at Stable Park. Chippewa pitcher Juan Lara nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Chippewa reliever Zak Osborn was the winner. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Zane Gunter.
The most important at-bat for Chippewa came in the top of the tenth inning, when first baseman Ben Eisner stroked a 1-0 fastball to right for a solo home run, putting Chippewa up, 4-3.
"I like our mindset right now," said Chippewa manager Bruce Leah.
The Knights, at 72-90, have lost 4 straight games.
