Boise left-hander Juan Disla helped his team edge Nichols by the score of 1-0. Disla kept the opposing lineup in check. Pat Meskill, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 17th save. Boise goes to 49-112, Nichols to 48-113.
Boise designated hitter Seisuke Fukushima helped the Bloodhounds go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the fifth inning. With the game tied, Fukushima hit a solo home run off Nichols pitcher Victor Saenz.
Afterward, Bloodhounds manager Nick Brown was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
