Knights Take Down Cyclones, 5-3
|
The Knights had to overcome a good performance from Coney Island pitcher Yuigo Fujimoto to claim a 5-3 win at Coney Island Coliseum. Fujimoto went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. Jim Unknown, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. With the win, Kingwood goes to 72-86, while the Cyclones fall to 63-96.
The Kingwood triumph was a team effort. Not least among the contributors was Eric Head. In the top of the first, the Kingwood catcher hit a 2-run double. It staked his team to a 2-0 lead.
"They played a better game than we did," said Coney Island skipper Gerald Pugh.
