River Chiefs Squelch Blue Claws Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Chippewa River Chiefs got a magnificent performance from pitcher Brad Ide, who stifled the Baltimore offense en route to a 3-0 River Chiefs win at The Reservation. Zak Osborn finished the game for Chippewa and earned his 6th save. Chippewa is now 100-58, 3½ games up in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division.
With no one out in the bottom of the fifth, Tommy Wilson lit into a curveball from Jesús Rivera for a solo home run. That made the score 1-0 in favor of the River Chiefs. For the day, Wilson went 1 for 3 with a home run.
"The division is still up for grabs, but I like our chances," Wilson told the Chippewa Citizen.
