Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Pelicans
|
In a low-scoring affair between the St. Petersburg Pelicans and the Brisbane Bush Wackers, pitcher Tim Hinson was the difference between victory and defeat. The St. Petersburg left-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-1 Pelicans win. Jaiden Harris closed the game out for St. Petersburg, earning his 17th save. St. Petersburg's record now stands at 58-100, placing them last in the Donnie Moore League Dusty Baker Division.
The critical at-bat for St. Petersburg came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Hinson hit a 2-run home run, putting St. Petersburg up, 3-1.
In postgame comments, Hinson told the St. Petersburg Daily: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
