Dancin' Outlaws Win Another One
|
Pitcher Yasukatsu Yonemura was sensational for the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Brisbane Bush Wackers. Yonemura received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Yonemura, now 11-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. West Virginia has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
The Dancin' Outlaws used some clutch hitting to beat the Bush Wackers, a good example being the at-bat of Sandy Alvarado in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, Alvarado gave his team the lead, 2-1, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Brisbane manager Pete Barrett. "Obviously."
