The Seattle Sasquatch did just enough to sneak past the San Diego Hops, 4-3, at The Brew Stade. Seattle third baseman Ruberto Sucena earned player of the game honors. Seattle reliever Kirk Redman was the winner. His record is now 2-3. The losing pitcher was Juan Vázquez. George Fortin was credited with the save for Seattle, his 14th of the season.
Sucena turned the game around in the top of the seventh. That's when the Seattle third baseman dialed up a 2-run home run. Just like that, Seattle's 2-1 deficit turned into a 3-2 lead.
"I love to hit," said Sucena. "As long as I keep loving it, the game's going to love me back."
The Sasquatch now have a record of 28-38 with the win over San Diego.
