Bums Lose Again, 8-5, to Shade
|
The Stroudsburg Shade topped the Palm Beach Bums, 8-5, in Donnie Moore League action at Tim Raines Stadium. The player of the game was Stroudsburg designated hitter Jose Martinez. Getting the save was Naoyuki Kikuchi, his 3rd. The slumping Bums have dropped 6 in a row.
With Stroudsburg trailing 5-4 and the bases loaded, the Shade struck gold when second baseman Alfredo Miera turned a first pitch fastball from Bums hurler Ruben Villasenor into his 1st home run of the season. The hit scored 4 and put Stroudsburg up, 8-5.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Martinez told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
