The Eugene Emeralds beat the Bel Air Princes, 9-7, at Philip Banks Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Fred Gagg, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs. The winner was Jorge Martínez in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Shayne Cluff took the loss. Gagg had a game-changing at-bat for Eugene. It came in the top of the ninth inning with two out. Gagg hit a 2-1 slider from Shayne Cluff for a 2-run double. It put Eugene in front, 9-7.
