Bloodhounds Slip Past Victoria, 2-1

The Victoria Vikings got a superb performance from pitcher Jack Thompson. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Boise. The Bloodhounds won the game, 2-1. In spite of the loss, Thompson was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Boise reliever Pat Meskill picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Keith Noble shouldered the loss. The Bloodhounds now have a mark of 44-107.
The Bloodhounds were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when pinch hitter Carlos Carranza turned a full count fastball from Keith Noble into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Boise a thrilling 2-1 win.
"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Carranza. "Maybe this win will help."
