Dancin' Outlaws Take Down Pelicans, 7-1
|
The exploits of third baseman Mitsunori Nauert helped the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws defeat the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 7-1. Nauert was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. West Virginia reliever Vincente Corona picked up the win to move to 1-0. Kevin Bongarzone suffered the loss. West Virginia has now won 3 in a row.
West Virginia took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Nauert hit a grand slam home run. His 8th home run of the season made the score 4-0, West Virginia.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Nauert told the West Virginia Herald.
