The Gnats had to overcome a good performance from San Angelo pitcher Joe Kearns to claim a 6-4 win at The Pond. Kearns went 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Seisaburo Sasaki closed it out for his 7th save. Even with the win, the Gnats have a dismal 45-109 record.

Tony Cervantes was a key contributor to the win for the Gnats. In the bottom of the sixth with two out, the light-hitting catcher stroked a single to center. He went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
