Cyclones Win in Glorious Fashion
|
The Coney Island Cyclones did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Baltimore Blue Claws at Coney Island Coliseum. Nobody did more than third baseman Bill Ottinger, who captured player of the game honors. The Cyclones raised their record to 60-89.
Larry Zimmerman was the walk-off hero for Coney Island. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cyclones designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Zimmerman said in his postgame press conference.
