In a low-scoring clash between Tree City and Brisbane, pitcher Ryan Davis was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned player of the game honors for Tree City in the 3-2 win. The Black Squirrels own a robust 95-52 mark.
A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the eighth. That's when Black Squirrels shortstop Júlio Vidro hit a sinker from Félix Ruíz for a run-scoring single, putting Tree City up, 3-2.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Davis said.
