Frosties Get One-Run Win at Eugene
|
The Barrow Frosties overcame a good performance by Eugene right fielder Umito Kono to knock off Eugene, 4-3, at Prefontaine Park. Kono was 3-5 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Broderick Young in relief. His record improves to 7-7. Chuck Easton took the loss. Juan Salinas got credit for the save for Barrow. It was his 17th of the year.
Doing his part for Barrow was third baseman Félix Adame, who stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, Adame was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"I felt good up there," said Adame. "I saw the ball well."
With the victory, the Frosties record now stands at 90-55.
