Zhang Brings A-Game, Marauders Beat Bombers
|
The Maple Marauders and South Carolina Bombers completed their game despite the rain.
Ze-dong Zhang pitched a near no-hitter in leading Maple to a 6-0 triumph over the South Carolina Bombers. Maple goes to 41-22. The win puts them 5½ games up in their division.
Zhang, a native of China, was dealing all game. He kept South Carolina hitters off-balance, while giving the Marauders 8.2 quality innings. Zhang threw 113 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 4.
"Ze-dong was Ze-dong," said Marauders manager Jesús Alfaro. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
