The Eureka Hornets knocked off the Kansas City Tornadoes, 6-3, at The Nest. Shannon Craft, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Eureka won. The designated hitter went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. The win puts the Hornets at 37-27, while the Tornadoes drop to 26-39.
The United States-born George Bowman came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded and the Hornets trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run double to center to put Eureka on top.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Craft.
