Hops Beat Sasquatch, 4-2
|
San Diego Hops starter Robinson Pedercini pitched a strong game against the Seattle Sasquatch at The Brew Stade, leading the Hops to a 4-2 win. Pedercini got the win, improving to 5-6. He allowed 8 hits and walked 3 over 7.2 innings. Pedercini allowed 2 earned runs. Juan Vázquez earned the save, his 2nd, for the Hops.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Seattle hurler Mokichi Nishiyama, Akira Kato, who is a three-time All-Star, hit a run-scoring single. The Hops went on to win.
"I like what I saw today," said San Diego manager Randy England, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
San Diego is now 30-35, Seattle 27-38.
