St. Petersburg and Coney Island met at Billy Mathews Field in front of a lively crowd.

The St. Petersburg Pelicans relied on the hitting of second baseman Adrian Sparks to stop the Coney Island Cyclones, 8-3. For the game, Sparks was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Their 52-90 record puts the Pelicans last in the Donnie Moore League Dusty Baker Division.

San Juan, Puerto Rico-born Omar Mora came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded and the Pelicans trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single to center to put St. Petersburg on top.
