5 Straight Wins for Blue Claws
|
The losses keep piling up for the St. Petersburg Pelicans.
The Baltimore Blue Claws got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jorge López, who muffled the St. Petersburg offense en route to a tight 2-1 Blue Claws win at Old Bay Park. Baltimore reliever Takeji Wada was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Orlando Rivas.
Baltimore took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Bailey Hardingham hit a clutch solo home run to bring Blue Claws fans to their feet.
Hardingham said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
St. Petersburg is in the throes of a 10-game losing streak.
