Getting a good performance from shortstop Tetsuhiro Morita, the Winfield Warriors defeated the Tree City Black Squirrels, 4-2. Morita went 3-4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 times for the Warriors. Johnny Gonzalez, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. Tree City manager James Lee said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
