5 Straight Wins for Islanders
|
Hawaii and New York met at Don Corleone Park in front of a lively crowd.
The Hawaii Islanders topped the New York Mafia, 9-3, in Roberto Clemente League action at Don Corleone Park. The player of the game was Hawaii pitcher and Aurora, Colorado native Joe Good. Hawaii reliever Joe Good was credited with the win, to go to 4-2. Jun'ichi Suzuki took the loss for New York.
With Hawaii trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Islanders fortunes got a boost when designated hitter Bagaskoro Pakpahan turned a 1-0 curveball from Jun'ichi Suzuki into his 13th home run of the season. The hit scored 3 and put Hawaii up, 4-2.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Good. "I just want to win ballgames."
The current losing streak for New York has reached 4 games.
