Warriors Drop Black Squirrels, 4-3

The Winfield Warriors picked up a win at The Barn, knocking off the Tree City Black Squirrels, 4-3. On the mound for Winfield was right-hander Nick Buonanno, who played a pivotal role in the win. Emilio Peres earned the save for Winfield, his 1st of the year. The Warriors now have a record of 69-72.
Had David Morales not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Morales hit a run-scoring triple. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Warriors.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Tree City manager James Lee. "But we decided not to take it."
