The Coney Island Cyclones got a superb performance from catcher Dusty Scott. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Stroudsburg. The Shade won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Scott was named the player of the game. He was 2-4 with 2 singles. Stroudsburg reliever Francisco Rodríguez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Randy Lynn shouldered the loss. Stroudsburg goes to 61-78, Coney Island to 56-83.
One of the key players for the Shade was shortstop David Chavez, who drilled a 2-run double in the top of the second inning. For the game, Chavez went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Chavez.
