Hornets Stick Saints with 6-4 Loss
|
Bethesda Hornets starter Rick Byrnes was in fine form against the St. Paul Saints at Saints Ballpark, leading his team to a 6-4 win. Hiroshi Nagasawa closed it out for his 38th save. The Hornets raised their record to 71-69.
With Bethesda trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, the Hornets fortunes got a boost when designated hitter Suezo Ine turned a 2-2 changeup from Gareth King into his 8th home run of the season. The hit scored 2 and put Bethesda up, 2-1.
Ine said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.
