Holder Helps Stroudsburg Cruise to 12-3 Win
|
The Stroudsburg Shade clobbered the Coney Island Cyclones, 12-3, at Coney Island Coliseum today. Stroudsburg center fielder Greg Holder was named player of the game for his productive day. He went 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Stroudsburg reliever Roberto Bazan picked up the win to move to 1-0. Julio Ochoa suffered the loss. The 'W' lifts Stroudsburg's record to 60-78.
With the game tied, 1-1, in the top of the third, Holder had a key at-bat for Stroudsburg. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Holder, who is tied for 8th in the AHL in RBI with 72, hit a run-scoring single off Julio Ochoa, making the score 2-1, Shade.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Holder told a Stroudsburg Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
